Book the Author

"This book is brilliant because of the simple logic that spelled out clearly Mom and Dadís job, Guardian, Chauffer, and Cheerleader. Brilliance is making sense out of chaos and providing a logical perspective and simple solution for solving it. You have done just that with this book. I love it!"

Born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Mike spent his entire youth playing sports beginning at age six with soccer, which he continues to play today. Mike also played Little League Baseball as well as Boys & Girls Club Basketball. In junior high Mike wrestled, played football and ran track. During high school Mike focused on the only sport he was
really any good at, soccer.

Mike and his winning team

Mike first started working with kids his senior year in high school where a cross-age teaching program at a local elementary school paired him with a third grade student one hour a day during which time Mike helped him with his studies.

After graduation Mike attended Highline College, while there he continued to work with kids by volunteering with the local Young Life Club. In 1987 Mike went on staff with Young Life leading the local Junior high school club.

Mike began coaching in 1994 and continues to coach to this day. Mike has coached
at all levels and ages both boys and girls. He has enjoyed much success as a coach
having had three teams play in state championship games, winning one time. Currently
Mike is coaching a Girls U11 development team.

Mike has also been involved with youth sports in many administrative positions, sitting
on the boards of both his local soccer club as well as the local soccer association.
At the club level Mike has held the positions of Director of Camps and Academies, VP
of Development and for two years was the Program Director. At the Association level
Mike held the position of VP of Development.

Mike and his wife Marla, who he married in 1984, continue to make their home in the
Pacific Northwest; they have three grown children, a wonderful son-in-law and two
amazing grand-daughters.
